the scent of the water
drifts up wet, mossy and crisp
as it sparkles in diamond drops
captured by the sun's rays
for a moment of rainbows
and faint echos of olden times

as a beautiful creature
dances 'neath the waterfall
in the Faerie Wood

her form lithe and glistening
like dew covered grass
swayed by the breeze
on a summer morn

she moves to the song
that only she can hear
the song Earth sings to her

her hair cascades down her body
in ripples of firey red
wet and curling
clinging to her shape
hinting at what lies beneath

she knows not of her great beauty
or her appeal to life-worn eyes
she only dances and sings
to ease the bubbling of joy
that wells up in her heart
like a mountain spring
after a winter's rainy season

beautiful..you have a way of painting the scenery with your imagery...very nice work!!
take care, janet marie

Now for me some words come easy...
But I know that they don't mean that much
Compared with the things that are said when lovers touch.
You never knew what I loved in you--
I don't know what you loved in me...
Maybe the picture of somebody you were hoping I might be...
How long have I been sleeping-
How long have I been drifting alone through the night...
How long have I've dreaming I could make it right...
If I closed my eyes and tried with all my might
To be the one you need...
Jackson Browne

Beautiful work, Vivian!
Like Janet said, you really do paint a "vivid" picture...hehe
I wish I could write this well in free verse...wow...

Great piece!

Whoops!!
I could've sworn that was your name LOL

Near the bottom before the quote, it says 'Vivian Greene'...
Sorry if I messed it up!
