The heart within me cries A flood of ruddy tears As love without me dies. I know my mother tries, And though I know she hears, The heart within me cries. I try to wear the guise And smile with my peers As love without me dies. I feel my life's demise, As hopes death-siren blears, The heart within me cries. The mask I wear belies And covers all my fears As love without me dies. The sun, again, will rise. But the night always nears. The heart within me cries As love without me dies. |
