Taking That Curve Lately I have felt a desire, a need to improve upon my outlook on life activities that will stimulate me my mind, my heart, my urges. Drive me to explore and fill my emptiness with new visions. I started off slowly, yesterday With each breath of fresh air my strength in pedaling became easier. I kept my rhythm smooth, breathing easy, placed the headphones above my ponytail but below the helmet, and listened to some soothing r&b. Every now and then the music would skip or pause... and then continue where it left off. Life's like that...comes to a standstill. You need to reflect a bit and then after the pause, you must continue on. The journey was beautiful, as I stopped occasionally, letting it all sink in. Took a few photos of the trickling waterfalls, the wild flowers...and met Ken, in high waders, fishing for trout (I promised I would mention him). Never noticed the distance, like the times before. The air was crisp and refreshing. I was alone except for my surroundings. I passed emus, and cattle, horses and the most adorable family of geese. I followed each bend, and curve in the trail... On the way back, I stopped at the entrance to one of the oldest railroad tunnels in America. Not wanting to go into it's darkness, I paused took a snapshot, entered then looking ahead saw "the light at the end of the tunnel" and continued on... Maureen 2k took a 34 mile bikeride the other day...if it wasn't for stopping to take the pictures, and resting, I am sure they would be scraping me off the tracks by now. *s (composite is not as clear as I had hoped...) |

Maureen, Thanks for taking us on your lovely tour, The pictures although they heightened the journey, were not essential, for your descriptions brought thier own mental pictures to mind. GOOD writing! Dennis :^) Moonbeams radiate When the veiling cloud has past Playful shadows dance Dennis L. White :^) |
