I sit here on my favorite stool, at the Corner Pub-- we are all like family here...a unique poets club. Denise and Poet D-give us service with a smile, we share our words and just hang out for awhile. All the usual faces are here as a rule... look-theres U-Gene and Spyro, playing a game of pool. Its always "happy hour" and theres never a rowdy crowd. All ages are welcome...purple dragons are allowed! Wikket, Munda, Sasikat and Exile- are sittin at the bar...lined up in single file (making us all smile.) Its the perfect place for Passions friends to go-- we're open everynight... 24/7...just so ya know. So please forum members...stop in anytime... for a drink... a laugh or two... or some poetic rhyme. janet marie (being silly) 2/13/00 In the time we've known That we each are a part of one another We've lost as much as we have won... And as our lives have grown We have found that it only brings us pain To hang on to the things that we have done... ***Still I love the times you've come*** Jackson Browne |

thanks guys...glad your enjoying it..it was nice to write with some whimsy for a change... Spyro...the Jackson verse comes from his "For Everyman" album...are you a fan? Fountain of Sorrow is from "Late for the Sky"...which is my MOST fav..Jackson is a lyrical poetic genius...he and Van Morrison are my "gods" (smile) thanks for asking... Well, you all do sound like a pleasant bunch. I just might stay a while, and get to know you better. If I don't get kicked out for not being silly enough. |

Hardly silly, Janet Marie. I think this is excellent for all newcomers to see. So back to the top it goes. ~Gene |

Thank you so much for posting the poem. It reduced the nervousness of placing my work here. It also proves that this group is very sincere and friendly. I just wanted to give you a very special thank you for this! |

Well I already thought it was a neat place to visit but now I might just become a regular. P.S. I love Van Morrison too Janet! "The world is never the same once a good poem has been added to it." -Dylan Thomas |

Oh, so sweet Janet Marie!!! You're so creative! I wish I had thought of this myself... You have a great talent Janet, and I have no doubt that you'll always be surrounded by friends!! Nothing silly about this poem, it is great. What a wonderful, intimate presentation. I thoroughly enjoyed this. And even though I'm new here, I've never felt more welcome anywhere. Thanks to you and everyone else here at the Corner Pub! |
