They know where I am!

Play Cards

They paint colorful murals
on glossy white walls.
They arrive quietly here
with glowing referrals.
They haphazardly run
screaming through the halls.
They whisper secrets
about escaping this place.
I administer kindness
without guilty regrets
then for hours they disappear
without a visible trace.
They call me evil names
say I commit crimes
it's all the crazy ways
they've designed
to play their games,
as they ever so creatively
make their silly rhymes.
I opened a treasure chest
for them to enter and explore,
seems instead I've created
a loony bin hatching nest
with cartoon characters
urinating on the floor.
I need a faithful friend,
I need a detailed doctor
to be assisting and intuitive
with a willing ear to lend.
Then to be eagerly enthusiastic
to play cards
with this here director.
