along the same lines as "tainted"...however, seperate fragments of the same mindset... ---------------------------- we have no past-- i'll not bring it up... fear has been summoned and stands guard over these wounds-- lest you should twist your blade in them again. only love could know this pain... but i'll not be vulnerable to you-- i'll keep my soul wrapped up in this shell for i know now, we have no past-- i mourn the death of it... --dgvarner 7-9-00 for abc.. ---------------------------------- "only a friend can betray a friend a stranger has nothing to gain and only a friend comes close enough to ever cause so much pain" --michael card "A Poet's life is on written page; a scenario to take the stage--watch..." dgvarner |

dgvarner, this reads so intense---can really feel the tremendous pain and anguish behind it like the last line(i mourn the death of the past)...haunting line to leave this reader with i use the prayer of serenity to help me get through tough times and i hope it will be of use to you May God grant me the serenity to accept the things i cannot change, the courage to change things i can and the wisdom to accept the difference |

How very true...reminds me of a line from a song by Sarah McCloughlin "So afraid to love you, more afraid to lose, clinging to past that doesn't let me choose". I can certainly relate to that feeling. Your poem is wonderful! You can never have too much fiction; reality can be such a bore |
