From the primordial ooze Up climbed a slthering mess, Embryonically disfunctional (Just a slow learner, I'd guess). But up it did seep anyway Like the scum to the cauldron's rim, To evolutre it's lowly state To become a renewed creature grim. It's self identity was confused It knew not if it came or went, And so it was awkward in motion With hesitations motion, much spent. So it settled as a puddle on the couch Where it's thoughts would be muddled by brew, Sensory-stirred by the light giving box Transmitting sounds, and pictures to view. But from such a spector, I must detach To vernture out into to the cold world, For every species must prove itself Or into the black hole of extinction be hurled. So from the dwellings opening I peer out Startled by some pious bells chiming, How hung over could I be? It's not Monday yet- So I slither back, onto the waterbed, I'm climbing!
