As Christmas draws near, I reflect on past years, The holidays I spent, Some with many tears. Although they weren't perfect, With all fancy gifts, They've something in commen, Which gives me a lift. I spent all surrunded, By my huge family, And I think how lucky I've been, Although it's forgotten so easily. (doesnt rhyme, oh well) I'd rather spend Christmas in company, Then being lonley with fancy toys, For what good is a toy on Christmas morning, Without being distracted by background noise. Thankyou for taking the time to read my poem! I'm still Improving! |

The theme is one many know well. I would rather get an empty box, but spend my time with family and friends. Christmas has become so many different things to so many but one thing stays always the same - the joy that comes from sharing it with someone. |

Here's hoping you had lots of background noise today. It's funny, we did our morning opening of gifts.. everyone organized their plans.. we made dinner.. and a couple of teen-aged boys converged upon us - looking for "bead" gifts for their girlfriends.. and of course had to stay for dinner.. What fun! Happy Day! |
