(It's hard to write a cheerful poem about Memorial Day.This is the best I could do.)

Memorial Day

We remember that You promised
They have only gone ahead,
As this Memorial weekend
We pay homage to our dead.
We thank you Heavenly Father
That You lent them for awhile.
You know we miss each dear one,
His loving ways and smile.
When we place our pretty flowers
On their graves and tears are shed,
We find comfort in Your promise
"They have only gone ahead".
