Candles in the Windows

A light in every window is a candle of your love
That shines from every room up to the icy eves above
Each glow comes from the spirit, every fire from your eyes
Just a little touch of love you send to each one passing by

A candle in the window is a beacon for us all
To look into the contents of the soul’s transparent wall
And weigh the measure of the gifts bestowed to those in need
How deep the roots of charity that came from springtime seed

A candle is a star of glory, beacon of your faith
Symbol of convictions lighting joy upon your face
Each little flame shines out it’s light in purpose through the glass
The meaning of candle to be understood at last

A candle for the little Child born in Bethlehem
A light to cast a glow upon the dignity of man
A candle in the hallway flashes light around the earth
And casts a gleam in every eye, each soul of equal worth

Upstairs a lightedtaper spreads its glow through icy glaze
And warms a spot to show it’s flame throughout the holidays
May your house be filled with candles, may your windows always shine
Like a star above a stable, Like the light of Love divine

This is just lovely ....
caused me to recall a whole bunch of years ago, when one of my sons went off to college ... I kept a candle burning so he'd always know the light was on to show him the way home to our love~

I think in times like this, a welcoming candle in the window is something we all need. Beautiful, Liz.

The candle does send many messages, and most gloriously at Christmas time.
