My soul was wrapped
In the warm spirit
Of joy, peace and love

No overwhelming feelings
Of gloom entered my heart
No sad spirits of Christmas past
Haunted my home

I decorated my heart
With the spirit of love and giving
Shared new excitement
Of what Christmas really means
By sharing the real meaning
With children and friends

Now with every new Christmas
I am determined to remember
It isn't what you get
But what you are able to give away
Not just in material things
But the intangibles
That spring forth from the heart!
