T’was the day after Christmas

T’was the day after Christmas,
And all through the town,
All was not happy.
Some kids had frowns.

Some of the kids got toys.
A doll for girl, a train for a boy.
Some were happy and glad.
A wagon, a bike, a cap for their head.
Some had turkey, dressing and everything
Some had a tree, candy and the whole shebang.

But, some got absolutely nothing.
And their hearts couldn’t sing.
Some kids were sad, cold and hungry.
Some were alone, without family.
Hearts empty, tears in their eyes,
Worn out clothes, not the right size.

So, if you are “kind of heart”,
Come on, and be a part.
Make this a joyous time of year,
And give every child some Christmas Cheer.

It's awful that children have to spend the holiday like this... heck, it's awful that children should ever live like this! Thank you for reminding us to help.

PVD, DD, LoveB, Liz,
Thank you for reading. Children are so innocence. Let’s “Do Christmas” for them.

Melton~
Kind hearts think alike !
I just give 'til it feels GOOD !
And it starts with just one child ...
and grows on you.
Thank you for reminding us of this gift
that each one of us can give ourselves -
a chance to share !

So true. Love is the best gift of all.
A smile or hug, most can give.
Thanks for the reminder.

This is so true, and heartbreaking. Just knowing someone cares is more than some kids get.

Marge… Thanks for your comments.

Bridgette… Thank you for reading and for brining this one up this year.

Lady in White… Yes, Christmas is for the kids.

Deb… You’re right about the hug. It certainly will bring smiles to children’s faces.

Nan… Thank you for your response. The day after is too late and too sad.
