Through the Eyes of a Child

Transformed!
A home of everyday decor,
Into a Christmas wonderland,
With angels and santas,
Forty-six snowmen,
Wreaths, roping,
and bows tied by hand.

Miniature sleighs,
A tree decorated all aglow,
Glass snowballs, music boxes,
and sparkling plastic snow,
A tiny town, and of course,
The prized nativity scene,
The refrigerator's covered with magnets,
red, white, and green.

I'm exhausted now,
But I know it will
Have all been quite worthwhile,
When that little five-year old walks in,
With such wonderment in his smile.

Kris, this was beautiful. I love the way kids look at things...their expressions can make your day!

Yes kids can make our days with simple words or expression.
great poem!

Thank you for reading. Yes...I believe our Christmases as they are now are mainly for the children, and it's wonderful to see their rapture!

a most precious sight...

even better when we can take it with us into adulthood...
