My friend at Christmas I start to feel happy at this time of year, The reason being, that Christmas is near. This is the time that I gain a friend, He stays with me until his bitter end. Six feet tall, he stands so proud, His smile so big, he could be a clown. This friend of mine I truly love, Yet him I can’t touch without a glove. His arms so long, his body so wide, He always seems to be outside. My garden’s his home, as he stands all alone. Smiling away with his teeth of stone. “This year you should stay, you really should” But my friend slips away, from where he stood Old friend of mine, stay if you can, But he just grins as he melts, this elegant snowman. ~~STEVE~~ |

Verma: This poem was light-hearted and sweet. I also enjoyed having those friends as a kid. Now where I live I don't get much snow so not many special friends get a chance to live. I liked how you made me think about who the friend was. Good job! ~Lisa~ ~in order to gain, you have to lose~ |
