Letter to Santa

Dear Santa:

The children have drawn their lists
in sloppy handwriting for you,
they've doubted your existence
for a couple of years now,
but I just say -
if they don’t believe
they don’t need presents.
That ends THAT discussion!

They don’t realize
you represent Jesus
guess I have failed in that regard,
church always left me
vaguely dissatisfied,
I can’t reconcile
the corporation with religion
even though I know
it takes organization and money
to run a house of God,
doesn’t it?

I hope it’s okay if we just pray
In our own way.
Somehow, I think it is
(Catholic guilt aside).

So, anyway,
the only present on my list
you’ve already given me,
by simply showing me
where strength lies.

Thank you
and Happy Birthday!

Forever Yours,

Corinne

Good letter. Jesus is the reason for the season!

I thought this was so amazing. Untangling the twine of our ever present Superman Santa who gives, if you're a "good" little boy, the most expensive gift on the market!
Wonderful way to go back to the simplistic nature of the once was, Jesus.

Happy Birthday aswell!

Corinne, this was very nice.
I was hopping you'd include their christmas lists so we can see what they want.

Thank you, Elizabeth, Lakewalker, Denise, Dopey-Dope and sweet Park. Truth be told Park, what they really need is time.

I know about Catholic guilt!  I loved this one!

What is that you express in your eyes? It seems to me more than all the words I have read in my life.
