In lifes pain I am numb And I feel a sharp thorn Driving deep into my heart Yet, I know one thats higher Higher than the pain Greater than my sinful plans One whose love makes whole again I prayed for you this very second I know he will bring you through For you know Him too! I loved YOU then I love YOU now I will love YOU when....... I won't give up on HIS power The strength to see us through You are the apple of His eye More than even my eye! You are HIS YOU are the JOY of His poured out life The one He saw when he gave Gave all for your weakness He saw you in this situation He loved YOU then He loves YOU now He will love YOU when........ Don't think he is turning you away No matter what you have done He was tempted as all men And he overcame just for you! So take his LOVE Take his forgiveness Let it make you new He IS watching YOU! I remember reading a spiritual poem that inspired me to write my own adaptation for someone I love, who was going through some of lifes own battles themselves. I had saved it and found it today and thought I would share! [This message has been edited by Illusion (edited 05-26-2000).] |

Illusion; AS I read this, all I could think about was the love pouring out to God as intervention for a beloved friend. So lovely. Ellie 02 |

Illusion, Somehow I missed this one, so glad I went down the list re-reading. Your poem is lovely and a good reminder not to give up, continue to pray for the ones we love and care about."I know one thats higher". Thank you for sharing this. Blessings, Marcy |

ILLUSION, You voice your poem here of loving restorative Faith as out of personal experience in reaching out to another- and that is the very best kind- Lead a person to where you have been- don't try to push someone into something when you have not first checked out the waters. Wonderful and encouraging. The truths you speak of unlike your screen name are No Illusion! Thank you for sharing it--David |

Ellie, you were so correct. It was written with that very heart felt cry. Thanks for seeing it in the poem! WhtDove, isn't it neat how sometimes we will read just the right thing that will take us right to where we are at in life, or better yet Father's heart! I am glad it spoke to you. Alle'cram, sometimes when you remember how precious the gifts we have in other people....I have to wonder why we do not pray for them more! Thanks for your encouraging words. jwesley, I think it was more sheer desperation and knowing how it feels to need God like you need your last breath! I sometimes have so little faith.....yet so much need for God....so I must cling and look up. deleeme, Whew......long story on the screen name! I know it is kind of an odd one, and really does not represent who I am, rather something that was happening in my life when I joined the poetry site. I am so reminded of how much of life APART from God is an ILLUSION! And also the things that we may think are truth.....but do not really find out if it is indeed truth according to God! And your so right about your insight of how to give the gift of personal experience with God vs. a generic application or announcement of who HE is! Only He can really show a person who HE is anyway! Thanks! |
