The ruach, gently blowing Can you feel it through your soul The breath of life breathed in you Has it yet taken control? The ruach is the Spirit It's the breath of life from God You're living, inner being That's a flesh controlling rod If the spirit takes over Begins controlling the flesh Let the inner man run things Then our soul becomes refreshed For flesh warreth g'nst spirit One sees corruption one don't Lust, through the eyes of flesh Things that the spirit just won't The spirit sees the right things Tells the flesh not what to do Why's it then we don't listen To spirits true point of view? Times when the flesh eyes should close You should see with the spirit Then close the ears of the flesh With your spirit shall hear it Take the time to close your eyes And let the spirit breeze through Cause you might just start learning Some things that you never knew <*\\\>< Our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become. |

Dear Rebecca; Wonderful! "then our soul becomes refreshed"! So very true that when we surrender to the Holy Spirit we are refreshed and renewed. Beautiful poem and so inspiring. This lifted me up, I know! Thanks, Love, Ellie 02 |

Ruach --- what an interesting word. I've never seen it used before. I looked in my trusty Collins dictionary but it isn't always as complete as I'd like it to be and I was unable to find it. Can you tell me about it... where it comes from... its shades of meaning.. ? It sounds like the rushing of air which is a powerful sound and image. oh my dear how true your words surely are. I find I learn many things I do not know when I close my eyes and let the spirit flow through! Words of wisdom my dear! God bless you! How beautifully and clearly you describe one of the mysterious aspects of of make-up and being, in relation to our flesh, putting thins in true proper perspect. This is a lovely teaching poem here well stated, a message well taken--Thank you Rebecca, David |

Rebecca, I have been drinking in your poem. I will go back to this one many times. God's power is overwhelming as is His love meek and kind. You have given us a well from which to drink. marcy |

Ellie thank you! I'm glad you were lifted. I'm shocked by the replies as I wasn't sure if it really made sense to others. I knew it did to me. So thank you! Kevin, I'll go into a little here. Though it's quite lengthy and if you'd like it all, I'd be more than happy to email the details. Ruach is a Hebrew word from the OT. Though it's been translated as spirit. That is what we read. So often times when we read words in the bible we are not getting the FULL meaning of that which we read. The meaning of the word is to be deduced only from its usage. The ONE root idea running through all the passages is invisible force. Ruach, in whatever sense it is used, always represents that which is invisible except by its manifestations. These are seen both externally to man, as well as internally within man. As coming from God, it is the invisible origin of life. All apart from this is death. It comes from God, and returns to God (Ecc. 3:19,20) I shall email the rest to you as it's quite lengthy. Thank you Amy! We tend to see wordly things with our eyes, and to many times those things get in the way. Sometimes we just need to close those eyes and see with the spirit within. I'm glad you can do that. Thank you much David! Well Marcy thank you for such a compliment. It is God who gives the well to drink from my dear, I just followed the lead. ![]() |

I had never heard that term used either, but I did look on the web and find the word used as Ruach Hakodesh meaning Holy Spirit. Interesting poem, and well written. |

Here is part of the Hebrew from the Strong's Concordance. #7308 corresp to 7307 Mind, spirit, wind That is the shortest description and pretty much fits what I'm describing here. Thank you Septsong! |

Rebecca - Certainly had me with the title, as I had no clue what it was. But, after finding out, I have to say, you have done a great job with it. How wise your words are. Beautifully written, and teaching yet another lesson. Bonnie |
