This poem is dedicated to my dear friend and co-worker Carmen. She is a delightful friend!

How do I begin
to tell you
what your friendship
means to me.

I can only compare
you
to a lovely garden
that flourishes in
my heart.

Your unconditional
love
is like the SON
that brings the light,
and sunbeams of joy,
that grow this garden
sweet.

Cicumstances
good and bad,
you're there for me,
I know.

As the earth
feeds flowering life,
so my heart is fed
by your ever present
gift,
of thoughtful ways,
and tenderness.

The many times
we've laughed together,
silly as can be,
are butterflies of
happiness,
that tickle my soul
with life.

We share our pain,
we share our joys,
and all the tiny
details
of daily mundane
things.

And so together our
lives are changed,
our hearts are grown,
we are closer to God
in this garden of ours
that's a friendship
He has made.

Oh Ellie this is so beautiful. What a loving tribute to a good friend. She sounds like a like a lovely violet (my fav) in your garden. How lucky she is to have such a sweetheart as a friend....Love, Bonnie

ELLIE,
How blest your friend is to have a friend like you, who treasures so highly every aspect of that friendship and the time spent together in each other's company. I know she is so blessed to have you for a Friend, because I feel the same, because I know first hand what a wonderful friend you are. I cherish your times of talking, sharing and discussing, and I'm sure Carmen feels the same. Anyway--this is a very fine tribute to your friendship--one which her will never forget. Wonderful tribute to a friend

We are all blessed to have them in our lives.
I am always amazed over how much strenghth and courage we find through our faith and the friends and family that stand by us.
