It's been seventeen years May eleventh, You were gone with a whispering sigh, Mother's Day meant nothing that year, As we had to say our goodbye. You know that I wasn't through with you, There was still so much life to live, You weren't here to see my boys grow up, They missed out all you could give. I've tried to keep you alive with pictures, And telling stories of when you were here, But this day that praises Mother's, Lost some of it's charm that year. I will visit you at Glenwood, Have a chat with both you and Dad, Leave a bouquet of fresh flowers, And be thankful for all that we had. I know you're in a better place, Wearing a glorious pair of wings, Listening to those hymns you loved, As along with the angels you sing. And the flowers that gave you such pleasure, Now cushion your every stride, As you walk with Dad and my brothers, And your loving Lord at your side. So I'll wish you a Happy Mother's Day, As you walk with those angels above, And I'll pray you catch the thanks I send, For sharing your life and your love. In Loving Memory of my Mom 1919-1983 [This message has been edited by BSC (edited 05-10-2000).] |

Dear Bonnie, This is such a lovely tribute to your Mother which obviously meant so much to you. I love to see such adoring, caring pieces in honor of the ones who have really touched and graced our lives. May I suggest that you send this in to [email protected] to submit it for inclusion in their Mother's Days celebrations-I think it would be a wonderful way to further give acknowlegement of your beloved Mother--for many more to see. Thank you for sharing it with us here, David |

Dear Bonnie, This is a glorious thanks and tribute to your Mom. It made me cry as memories of my own Mom came flooding back. Agreeing with David, this speaks to many who's Mother has gone on to be with the Lord. Such a precious heart you have. Blessings, marcy |

Dear Bonnie; This is a lovely poem to honor your mother. I agree with David, that alot of people would be touched by this poem who have lost their Moms, My Mom is gone too. She was born in 1919 too, and passed away in 1990 at 71. Once again, something in common. Ellie 02 |

I agree with everyone above, this is really beautiful. My mother is still with me but she probally won't be too much longer, and this just reminds me how much I appreciate the fact that she is still here. |

oh Bonnie, what a wonderful ribute to your mother. Having lost both my parents many years ago, Mother's Day and Father's Day meant nothing much to me the firs few years that they were gone. It was when I realized they were in a better place at the side of God, that those days became much more meaningful to me. This is a wonderful poem, very heartfelt and beautiful. I am quite sure that your mother has heard your thanks many of times, and is thanking the Lord at her side for you! God bless! Bonnie I hope you submit this somewhere. This is beautiful and made me cry. I am sure so many can relate to this! You have a gift indeed! I hope that you choose to share it elsewhere with others also. If you'd like some tips we have Publishing Tips Forum here also. I know Ruth has posted things about Spiritual publishers as well as others. Submit it to the newspaper for Mother's Day. I'm sure many could enjoy it as well. |

BSC~ Lovely thoughts you've shared. I also cry the tears of sweet remembrance for my mother who left this earth just four years ago. She is one of the poetic muses that frequent my nights with her fluttering thoughts. She is ever with me. Bless you. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |
