As I sat on the dock this morning, Watching the sun rise over the hill, With baby ducks gliding gracefully, I could feel my spirit fill. Enveloped in the mist of the morning, A fresh shimmer of dew on the grass, Rays of brilliant sunlight shone As if through a prism of glass. Clouds that looked like cotton, Blinding white as the purest snow, Against a sky of the deepest blue, Oh, what a glorious show. On the water there was barely a ripple, Rugged trees still, as if standing guard, It seemed a small glimpse of heaven, Right here in my own backyard. I could envision the golden pathways, Smell the lavender lining each side, I could feel the carpet of violets, That cushioned my every stride. Ivory doves and dandelion fluff, Weightlessly danced in the air, While running through fields of wildflowers, Were wee cherubs with dark curly hair. I came out to watch the sunrise, As I was troubled through the night, Lord, at once You took my burdens, Again filling my soul with Your light. I'm in awe at how every moment, Whether it's happiness felt, or pain, Your presence is always with me, I need only to call out Your name. [This message has been edited by BSC (edited 04-15-2000).] |

BSC~ This is truly upliftingly lovely. 'I came out to watch the sunrise, As I was troubled through the night, Lord, at once You took my burdens, Again filling my soul with Your light.' How I love to meet my Lord on the dawning rays of a new day. Thank you for this moment. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Bonnie you have such a descriptive way of describing things, you put the reader right there with you. This was breathtakingly beautiful!!! What a comfort knowing that he's always there no matter in joy or pain. Such a serene, peaceful setting you describe. |

Bonnie, This poem left me in awe! Simple breathtaking. I love it. With humility you faced the morning from distress within the night, only to find God's favor as it swelled within your soul, in focusing on Him, our creator. This one really speaks to me. Marcy |

it made me want to kick off my shoes and splash in the water, and made me feel like a little girl in summer. I loved it! Kathleen |
