When I was just a little girl, And life was so carefree, The two of them were always, Chasing after me. Two older brothers teasing this kid, Then wiping away my tears, Or keeping me safe in the dark, Relieving most of my fears. Mom always there doing the things That mother's always do, Kissing away the little hurts, Making sure my worries were few. Dad taking care of his family, Working hard, yet ready to play, Giving all he had to us, Gently guiding us through each day. They were always there to love me, Unconditionally, through the years, But one by one they left me, No more to dry my tears. Yet when they left the angels sang, As they handed them their wings, And the stars shone bright in heaven When they found the peace God brings. Each given an assignment, I know without doubt what it was, Their job was to watch over me and mine, Still protecting, but now from above. At times I'll feel a little tug, And I know a brother is there, Or I'll hear Mom's silent whisper, "Sweetheart, you know I still care." And Dad is there to say "Watch out!!" He still doesn't think I can drive, I feel him with me even more, Than I did while he was alive. Yes, my Guardian Angels, Surrounding me still, everyday, And as I finish what's left of this walk, They're beside me, every step of the way. Happy Birthday Dad. Dear Bonnie, I am touched and greatly moved by this simply awesome poem. It is so open, and breathes of happy family times and blessings, that I'm sure you'll cherish all your days. But it goes on further, to sense a continuation of the loving, guiding care and influences of others throughout our lifetime, wheter in their presence or absence. This was truly a beautiful recounting of your Special Guardian Angels, I feel quite privileged that you shared this loveliness with us (me included)! Dear Ellie, I can only imagine this to be true, because of the love you always share in this forum. I know your heart is full, and your family helped fill it. I'm so glad that they still do, even from afar. This is special and beautiful. I'm so glad you shared it with us. Love Regina |

The poem is simply awe-inspiring. You have written from the heart, and I believe your words will reach out to those who read it all over the world, and touch some chord within each one |
