My Guardian Angel

The Lord is my guardian angel
He watches over me faithfully
With eyes, I may not always see Him
His presence is there constantly

When I'm down, He's there to lift me
When I'm happy, He sings with joy too
When I lose my way, He guides me back
I'm amazed at what He's brought me through

Through highest mountains of rough terrain
Through the soggiest valleys so low
When I was ready to give it up
It is then that He taught me to grow

In the moments of time in trials
When you didn't think you'd make it through
When you're past all troubles and sorrow
You see there's nothing He cannot do

You might feel alone in suffering
Feel no presence with you in the room
When there's a moment to reflect back
It is then you can see through the gloom

We never think we could have made it
In all trials we might have endured
But with God, my guardian angel
I'm constantly being reassured

Ellie He didn't wait until the last minute did He? hahah...

Beautifully written. When we've been to the mountain, its so good, His love; yet, He is with us in the valley's, where we really grow. God Bless  Marcy

Rebbecca--
Your inspiration was lightening fast this time-and what a flash a brilliance was shone-I am persuaded that in several Old Testament passages that the yet to be incarnate Christ was prese-existent and active and also refered to as THE ANGEL OF THE LORD.  Persuing such passages and making such connections makes for some interesting study.  But I believe that you have here made the right & ultimate connection.  Well done- your marvelous lead off makes this Challenge even more challenging!   David

Amen Rebecca! We are never alone in our suffering. He is always there. I love your poem and it is true, when I look back, he was there. I love this..There is nothing he cannot do. Thanks so much for all your insight and kind words and comments. You are a blessing to me.
Sincerely,
Rwood

Ellie this came to mind shortly after. I am interested to see what the rest comes up with. Thanks so much

Marcy so very true, even though we don't always know or are aware He is there through it all. Most of those times we realize when we reflect back.

Thank you Bonnie, I'm glad you found it as such

David that is exactly right, He was refered to as the Angel of the Lord.
Though I don't know about the lightening thing.    haha

Aww, thanks R. That's such a sweet thing to say. You hit it on the head, for he is there, we just don't always realize that when we're so caught up in our tribulations.
Not until we reflect back.  God bless ya!

Dear Whtdove,
So beautiful and inspiring. There is a line from a dctalk song that says, "I can't see the wind, but I can see the effects of the wind."
How wonderfully blessed are we who know the Lord because we don't need to see Him to know that he is here with us.
May He always reassure you.
Bless you,
Erie
