I tried to write a poem for you
To express just how I feel,
But the words they would not come to me,
Despite my obvious zeal.

I struggled and I struggled
To find the words to say,
But the words they would not come to me,
Although I tried all day.

I tried my very hardest
to find the words to write,
But the words they would not come to me,
So my mind gave up the fight.

The only words I have for you
Are simple, but they're true,
The only words I have for you:
"My darling, I love you."

There's nothing else that I can say
To make it clear to you;
I love you more than life itself,
And I hope you love me too.
