A picture of Jesus surrounded by children
Graced the cover of my childhood Bible,
And though it's now over forty years old,
It still holds the same truths viable.

I will never forget my sweet Mother,
And her Corinthians first:thirteen,
Charity was her greatest gift,
And her faith never went unseen.

As I grew it became my favorite too,
When the meaning became so clear,
When I felt, at times, I could take no more,
Her voice is what I would hear;

Telling me I could bear it all,
I simply had to believe,
Remembering never to give up hope
I would endure, though I also would grieve.

But when I was young I did not understand,
As I thought with the mind of a child,
Now as an adult, with my youth put away
I know the true meaning of mild.

I hold on to the faith, and to the hope,
But the charity...the greatest of all,
I strive for every day of my life,
I only pray I can answer that call.

And when we do meet face to face,
When I am standing in His sweet light,
Although there were times that I faltered,
He will know I tried to do what was right.

BONNIE,
WELL DONE to you. This is a delightful introspective piece in which you share both touches of inspiration in your upbring as well as your gowing to understand and Love, I CORINTHIANS 13--the Chapter of LOVE, as a worthy object for being a favorite Passage
for at least two generations in your family.
I feel I have been given the opportunity to know you better and appreciate you more, as our colleagues also will.  You have well met the Challenge, Thank you & God bless you,
     David

Bonnie, what a lovely piece!  Your mother had insight and wisdom and it's surely paid off.  Isn't it amazing how strengthened we're made through our faith?  Thank you so much.
