(A dear Friends Poem) : Wisdom

Wisdom iis in knowing the simple and the plain,

Not in documents and degrees, to make vain.
Wisdom is based on sound principles laid down,

Knowing the Almighty, on pride, does frown.

Wisdom is not found in exalted places,
In worldly power, nor in outer spaces.
Wisdom is found in down to earth reality,
Not in some advanced, human technicality.

Wisdom is in accepting ones abilities, limitations,

Neither boastful, nor apologetic of one's station

With all he's endowed, giving of his best,
Satisfied he is giving as much as the rest.

Wisdom is not of the world, but of God,
It transcends the earth on which men trod
Men may increase in wisdom by following the Lord,

The way made clear in God's Holy Word>

(This is a poem written by an dear elderly lady and friend of mine, Irene Johnson. She
wrote a lot of good poems. She is now in a nursing Home--so I take pleasure in sharing with you, some of her wonderful poems of Faith & inspiriation)
