I was lifted up on Angels wings,
And through the Heavens soared.
When I came upon a brilliant light,
I found it was my Lord.

With hair like snow and eyes of fire,
I bowed before His feet.
In His presence it was hard to stand,
My sins felt like concrete.

Head hung in sorrow, tears filled my eyes.
My mouth, it couldn't speak.
My sins were overpowering me.
My soul, it just felt weak.

A gentle hand reached out to touch me,
A voice like thunder spoke.
The love He gave enveloped my soul,
My heart no longer broke.

He put His loving arms around me,
Such peace that I felt then.
I was quite content in knowing that,
He'd do it all again.

Our righteous acts are like filthy rags,
The Lord reminded me.
Come in unto Me my precious child,
For I can set you free.

I was lifted up on Angel's wings,
And through the Heavens soared.
I had been forgivin my sin and...
My soul had been restored.

One way you can save your riches,
And the other will save your soul.

Rebecca,
This one is most lovely, I wasn't around to see it the first time around, I'm glad you revived it for us again. It is exquisite in it's feel and encompassing message of love & forgiveness, in the awsome presence of the exalted yet conforting, redeeming One.
Thank you,  David

Dear Rebecca; I too missed the first time around, so I'm glad I have the blessing of reading it now. I feel lifted up on those wings too. This is a soaring tribute to your beautiful love of our Lord and also to your wonderful gift of writing poetry. Thank you Beck. Love, Ellie

Thank you all for your lovely replies! This is probably my favorite one. It came about as a challenge, I believe from Echo. I miss her very much around here

Thank you once again, y'all are great!

Somehow I don't recall this one, but it certainly is my favorite of all you've written.  As I read it I could just feel that freedom and comfort.  Thank you and God bless you for putting this on again.

Thanks Mom, I'm surprised you haven't seen this before. But hey, I wrote this a while ago so maybe not...thank you! One of my fav's too.

Mirjam, how I miss you around here! I'm so glad you came to read for a bit. Glad you could have a nice break from all your study.
This all came about as a challenge, but the words just seemed to flow. I'm glad you enjoyed it so much. Thanks for your wonderful comment, and God Bless ya. Hope to see ya round soon!

Thank you Walt! That's very sweet. I hope you do come in here and visit us much more often

Thank you Dennis! I guess it just came to me how would we actually react in His presence?  I don't think we'll walk up to him and say Hey!  But more than once is described as not being able to look upon His glory and perfection.

Thanks to all of you! God Bless!
