There he goes, out the door again Lord Unshaven, hair mussed, flannel shirt - So much taller than I, this "little boy" Heading back off to Pennsylvania, To finish up the final semester of college. I send up the same silent prayer, "Please keep him safe, while on his journey, and while he's so far from home." And I get lost for a few moments, could this be the same little boy of yesterday? The one who tried to eat worms, who wanted to know the why of everything....the how....... Where has the time gone, where did this man/child come from? When did he get here? When I snap back to the present, I know, he is on his way, he has come this far, and has only to realize his dreams... A few short weeks, and a bittersweet graduation, Like kindergarten when the baby became a child... Now, the child becomes a man.... Living this life he has been given to the fullest, Making his way in the world, Loving his family, his friends, the race car???, and his Lord.... Oh, to turn back the hands of time, but....we can't, so I'll just remember that --- We did o.k. - Me, the Mom, his Dad and you Lord, we could never have done it without You. |

Amen! I know exactly how you feel. This is so wonderfully expressed. God bless you and your son on both your journeys. I admire this Motherly tribute. Sincerely, Rwood |

Hi Bonnie, I can sure relate to this poem. What a tribute from a Mother to her son, giving honor to God and Dad. Where does the time go? Both my boys are grown and blessed us with grandchildren. With each phrase of their life, including now, I continue to lift them up to God for His protection. I get to see in the grandchildren things daily that remind me of them when they were at that age. God Bless you mightly, Marcy |

Dear Bonnie: I also have two grown sons, so I know exactly where your heart is. I turned my head and they weren't babies anymore. Thank you, Bonnie for a lovely tribute to your son. Love ,Ellie 02 |

I'm not there yet, I have a ways to go before mine get old enough to go. But to rear them up in the Lord, there's no better way! |

Lovely poem. I've often thought and now think I'll write a poem on weaning them from parents to the Lord, as that's what all their upbringing should be focused toward. |
