For several weeks I've been hiding,
In a dark and lonely place
Afraid to brave the sunshine,
Unwilling to show my face.

There were delicate sounds of thunder,
Rolling constantly in my mind
A gentle rain kept stinging harsh blows,
I felt I would never find -

A rainbow with it's pastel shades,
Arching across the sky -
No answers to all of my questions,
No reason - to solve every why.

So slowly the rumbles mellowed,
Was I really hearing birds sing??
Had I been touched by the hand of God,
Or perhaps an angels wing??

It must have been His Loving Grace
That made me - start looking for me,
It was Him that showed the pictures
That before, I could not see.

And as I awoke this grey morning,
No sun in the first light of day,
I was singing as I got out of bed,
He will have it no other way.

Tomorrow will be even brighter
My Lord won't let me despair,
He is holding my hand tightly
As He listens to my every prayer.

"But thanks be to God,who gives us the Victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore my beloved brethren, be steadfast unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord" (I Corinthians 15:57-58)

That is what came to my mind as I read your
wonderful poem of victory and overcoming through Him in a confident & joyous way.
Thank God, I am happy for you!  David

Dear Bonnie: Oh, I am so happy for you, because you deseve every joy and happiness. I know you realise that the joy is only as wonderful in proportionate to the dark sad days. We only appreciate and feel intensely the joy after feeling the pain. You have written one beautiful poem. love, ellie

This is wonderful! Puts a song in your heart and a spring in your step, for He's in control!

Isn't it amazing that the sun always shines the brightest after the rain? Thats when the air smells the sweetest too! For everything there is a season and a reason God knows and understands. Beautiful poem..

What a well written piece of feelings changing when we come into the light.  Why after experiencing this lovely feeling, we ever again hide in dark corners, I can't understand, but all too often do it myself.  Thank you.
