Some days my kite takes wind and soars Touching blue sky, and sunlight Some days, no matter how hard I run I can't seem to get it off the ground Other days it gets tangled in a tree And I have to climb to set it free Someday, no matter how hard I cling To it's string It will take wings of flight And sail away beyond All earthly sight |

Dearest Septsong: What a marvelous analogy of life's ups and downs and finally to be one with our Lord. I love this poem and the way the flow of it feels like I'm right there with you and the kite. Actually, I am, in spirit. You are a gifted poet, my dear friend. Love, Ellie< !signature--> 02 [This message has been edited by ellie LeJeune (edited 02-26-2000).] |

The term "emphatic symbolism" comes to mind here. Wonderful work, Septsong. Michael |

Dear friend: I flew kites when I was a young boy, and I went thru the emotions of that sport again when I read your poem! What excellent imagery and what uplifting message. to ponder...This one will be one of the favorites in my collection. Thank you! Willem |

Dear Septsong, How wonderfully you've captured the the soul caught up in the our changing times and circumstances, until our final release and triumph in heavenly glory, all by the whimsical plights of a string & kite! Very inventive-very well done! David "Our Creativity points to a Higher Creator--we couldn't have just happened, and for what ability we may possess--to God be the glory." -dlw- |

You all have paid me the nicest compliments here, but I have to give God the glory, who by some means, takes my life stories, and brings new meaning to them.. I never learned how to fly a kite until I was an adult, when I was a kid I was never able to get one off the ground, might have been because I had no one to show me how, or maybe it was because, California isn't as well suited to Kite flying as those Eastern States, except maybe on the beach, and I just never tried that. |

I certainly would not mind at all! That is about the highest compliment a poet could get! Glad you enjoyed this. |
