As I wake up what do I see darkness, My eyes are open, yet they are shut... Darkness surrounds the room, like a weed around a rose, strangling the sunlight as it trys to grasp onto the walls... But it's not the physical light that concerns me, the light I am talking about is within... The light that gives life and nourishes my soul, but this light is slowly dimming as my soul slowly dies... My soul trys to grasp the light, like a single flower beneath towering trees, straining to reach each strand of sunlight that escapes the arms of the giants... Trying to live and become, a thing of beauty, within a world of darkness... I slowly open my eyes, and my mind to the light, I feel the life and the strength to live and move on... To become that beautiful flower, that beautiful woman, that beautiful human being... What the world thinks may seem impossible, a life thriving in darkness, becoming a beautiful, strong individual... It may seem impossible, but open your eyes and grasp the light creeping through the darkness. |

There is a light out there that even the blind may see. It warms the coldest hearts, and it comforts the most distraugh individuals. This poem tells me never to let worldly expectations keep you from it. Beautiful work. michael |

A lovely work. It's amazing how long I lived in the dark, not even knowing I was until I began to see the light of God's love. Suddenly, nothing else seemed to matter. Your writing brings this to mind as you strain for every fragment of it. |

I love the way this flowed so well, right from your heart. The darkness is a terrible place, and, until I was filled with His Love, Only then did I realize how awful it was. |
