Gratitude

There's no way I can change them Lord.
They're doing it again.
I don't even try to stop them
for how can one restrain
such dear out-pouring of their love
for all the many years
I comforted them and held them
and wiped away their tears.

And so I come to You dear Lord,
tonight on bended knee,
to thank You for the many times
You have comforted me.
I come with empty hands dear Lord.
I have no gifts to bring,
except for ever thankful heart
and song of praise I sing.
