somebody's dungeon

Where was God on that day
when our lives were blown away?
Have you asked and asked again
just exactly this question?

Why didn't He stop the planes
why not stop the horrible pain
why let this happen to us God
why let the horror just go on?

I can't give His answer now
can't speak for Him, anyhow
but I can and will tell you this
God was here, we were amiss.

In this country on most days
God is not thought of anyway.
We don't consult His precious word
very few real prayers are heard.

We pushed Him out of the school
we refuse to heed the golden rule
we live our lives without His power.
So where was He in our dark hour?

He was where He's always been
loving us from His heaven.
Grieving, crying, feeling our pain
reaching out yet once again.
Calling to us from on high
listening as we screamed and cried.

The question we should probably ask,
I know this for some a loathsome task,
not where was our Lord that day
but where were we along the way?

Where was our heart and soul just then
where was our love on that day when
the whole world seemed to stand quite still
while with terror our heart was filled?

God was where He's always been
loving us, from His heaven.

(big hugggssssss) Oh Anne, this is absoluely beautiful, I love it, September 11 is later on this week and to that day all the visions will be remembered as we cry with grief and hope and as always, God will be guiding us with love and comfort from above! (wipes tears)

Being a Deputy Moderator, if you'd like with your permission we could move this poem to Spiritual or just leave it here and delete the message in Spiritual, it's your decision! Either way, this is marvelous, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Anne, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Someday we will all know the answer to the question "Why" when we all rejoyce in Heaven.

White Rose:  Wonderful poem.  Perhaps God was even walking the earth that day!
