Trading Epiphanies for Daydreams All of my life I’ve been waiting for you Waiting for your message To believe it was true Tantalizing shivers always ran up my spine Whenever you touched me Made your presence mine At times I’ve felt as Vishnu must feel Dreaming this all up on my own But somehow trapped within the dream as one of the dreamt Other times your presence has filled me a love the fullness of which I am simply not allowed to speak At times I could see Everything, at once All lay exposed for what it was and my eyes were opened Sometimes I couldn’t take it On rare occasions I accepted myself as IAM and then I could perform magicks Sometimes my hands got so hot that I knew if I just touched someone they would be healed. Just knew it. Those days come less often for me now Fatherhood and husbandship present a different set of concerns to the mind of a man I still feel the tingles of your touch often enough Life continues to be a revelatory experience Children are a revelation in motion But I’ve traded epiphanies for daydreams This has been by choice, not circumstance And, as a consequence, you stand in a different part of my mind now, a little further back My life has now become a little more mine, a little less yours This is as it should be, right? this is SO great... what a well written and expressed piece. It makes one think about so much to do with our own inner faith and beliefs. Sometimes we all look for "signs" and want to see the miracles...but it is when we can just believe and accept and try love ourselves that we find our most peaceful and content filled moments. thank you for sharing this with us. take care, janet marie Some things cannot be explained by verses that rhyme, They are not measured by the commitment of time. Some emotions run too deep to be described by words, Forgiveness and understanding- remain the most beautiful words ever heard. Janet Marie |

You know I can relate to this one. When the His presence was stronger. When you felt stronger and things happened. And life does seem to put your mind in other places, and other concerns. Lord knows, we all fall short. But our life should not become a little more ours and a little less His. It should be all of His! He should come first, because when we tend to stick Him in the background and lean on our own understanding, is when we start to mess things up! So I hope you see to put Him back in first place. <*\\\>< Where there is faith, there is love. Where there is love, there is peace. Where there is peace, there is GOD. Where there is GOD, there is no need. Hallmark |

Truth be told... He inspired me to write this. He answered the question of the last line. He said, "Yes, this is as it should be." He said, "This is as I made it." He said, "This is called, 'Growth.'" He said, "How could I be threatened by growth?" He said, "I love and want only the best for you." He said, "This is as it should be." He said, "Put your children and family first." He said, "I don't mind." He said, "You can never fall short in my eyes." He said, "I love you." sirreen [This message has been edited by sirreen (edited 02-04-2000).] |
