Girl In The Mirror Softly... the lights of night Shine in the air again, Contrasting... The spaciousness of the darkness. Every girl... looks at her mirror at night, Staring at the familiar figure. "I... I wonder why I wonder why I'm not like Miss Perfect. I... I wonder why I wonder why I'm not like a vase." The girl in the mirror told me... The girl in the mirror told me... That the world is about contest. But if that was true, If all that was contrast, This world would be tiresome. There wouldn't have sky blue Or rose red. All there would be black and white. All there would be racing cars. And if all people applaud, Will I be able to smile? Is this a trap... of mind Rather than... a trap... by others. Every girl... looks at her mirror at night, Staring at the familiar figure. "I... I wonder why I wonder why I'm not like Miss Perfect. I... I wonder why I wonder why I'm not like a vase." thanks Noah!  Sometimes I compare myself with somebody, That's how I had the inspiration of the poem. Sometimes every girl has gone through similar experience, Even the most beautiful one, think she isn't good enough. The poem doesn't target me, I'm targeting to every girl. But Noah, your comment really make me smile! A friend told me I'm compassionate but I didn't thought so... your comment prove that he is right. LOL. And thanks all that have reply to this msg. Haven't we all looked in the mirror the same way at one time or another...been there done that too! This one hit home with me...thank you for putting a voice to that uncertainty we all feel at times. Very well done! |
