Faith vs. Belief

What is Faith ?      to hold me in a trance
all too happy         my heart could dance

Seeking to avoid    the witch’s glance
let’s grow Faith      our last chance

*

Faith is relief from grief
It means: plans not to conceive,
nor from memory to blindly retrieve
factual data, for a grand design to weave,
who upon Magic’s grave
lays a wreath to grieve

But in sensory aberrations do believe
if the heart an unfathomable miracle achieves !

And allow the flame of faith
to dwell in your hearth
to light your heart

You must trust your heart’s intuition
against all odds, or anyone’s objection,
no matter what circumstance deem action
to be fit according to a logical plan of reason

Yes, jump the fence of "Logic’s Bound"
and climb the slopes of "Spiritual Mount"

Its not a hike in the park  expect heat and sparks
and a solid front to lurk in the forces of the dark

*

But a caution, at you to brief :
the heavy deafness of a dead Belief
never replaces the true Faith in God’s relief

More than a word            is the Faith you hold

but Belief spells "Disaster"       for the Church of Gold  !

Wow, this is deep and gives much cause for reflection & meditation, on what True Faith is & does, and if we are true possessors & users of it. Have you written a book of such verse?  Thank you for giving us a pause to ponder.    David

David & Ellie,

Thank you very much.

I did not want to make an announcement out of my post, but whats in this post is an excerpt from a free book I'm distributing electronically on (http://magicboat.com). But you can also read it online.

the parallels and questions this poem asks are very thought provoking and deep. The use of rhyme is very creatively done, using so many diverse words well. loved it. WELCOME to Passions. Janet Marie

Some things cannot be explained by verses that rhyme,
They are not measured by the commitment of time.
Some emotions run too deep to be described by words,
Forgiveness and understanding-
remain the most beautiful words ever heard.

What can I say?  I love it.  Faith holds hope as nothing else does.  Well written and very thought provoking.  More...

Some where I just read, " Belief is feeling God can do it, faith is knowing he will"  I'm delighted you mentioned your book, I'll have to go take a look.
