Keepers Of The Flame By: Noah Eaton 4/27/02 "Who is like you among the gods. O Lord... In your steadfast love you led the people whom you redeemed; you guided them by your strength to your holy abode." (Exodus 15, 11, 13) St. Augustine said, "Our hearts are restless until they rest in you!" Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us Whilst to link his forgiveness with that of others is not that easy to do Jesus teaches us that we have a filial relationship with God, He is our territory Take off your sandals now as Moses did on Mount Sinai Stand on this holy ground upon this infinite chasm and host this liturgy What you've got inside of you is more than just some set formula But rather like some song you always hum in your head To awaken and stimulate the trust in you and clear your sense insomnia Know you are always invited to draw near to the all holy Let Him sprout blessings in your hearts like cherry tress in spring Let Him breathe alsike clover upon your meadows, this is more than just an allegory We are the keepers of the flame We are the keepers of the flame It only involves a prayer to sum up The teachings Jesus laid before us all You know we are all His children What can be more childlike to call For the daily bread that bears the nutrients Asking for what we need to keep us standing tall I bear my sword at name And recite the shawm when I meditate We must urge not into temptation We ust not let our good intentions procrastinate Come with Him and let Him deliver you whe you are tested There is much more life than this that He can facilitate We are the keepers of the flame We are the keepers of the flame Blessed are the peacemakers Blessed are the followers So come and join me now we are all children of grace, your spirits selective borrowers For each tear I plant a daffodil, for every laugh a tulip Sowing my wild oats and fertilizing the with His comfort It is those who can see that should lead the blind I suppose this is how the story goes We are all within your sight In you lies an intimacy that helps us grow Follow His word and you will get all you are trying to find Home is where the heart is, and your heart is His abode... We are the keepers of the flame We are the keepers of the flame We are the keepers of the flame We are the keepers of the flame...
