                       This I Pray
Here I am on bended knee, alone and stricken with grief,
I pray to you for guidance in my life, to feel relief.
The turmoil in the recent past seems more than I can bear,
I know you love me Father, I know how much you care.
So please grasp hold and comfort me, take me by the hand,
Grant thy spirit in my soul and help me understand.
Thy will may I accomplish to the best that I can do,
And keep my thoughts and actions patterned after you.
I ask for strength in spirit, much stronger than before,
That I may heed your spoken words, and go and sin no more.
Father please forgive me, transgressions I’d perpetrate,
Ever guide me with direction, before it grows too late.
I turn to you in this time of need, although it’s been a while,
But always when I see your face, you’ve nothing but a smile.
I know I don’t always please you, and for this I feel remorse,
And now I put my life in your hands to let it run it’s course.
I also wish to convey the love and care I have for you,
And hope that someday I will heed to all you ask me to do.
The road that lies ahead of me will need to be taken in stride,
These things may I accomplish with my Father by my side.
I completely put my trust in you, knowing of your love,
The promise of everlasting life to live with God above.

Debbie:  A heart-wrenching poem, but with your faith intact, you will come through this. Sorry things are so hard right now though.

Debbie,

To write such a heartfelt poem and yet have it to rhyme and flow so effortlessly as your poem certainly does here seems almost miraculous to me... It must have been the hand of the Lord. Now, being assured that the hand of the Lord is upon your life and that you Love the Lord,  I know for a fact that GOD will make all things, especially those most difficult circumstances that you face in life, work together for His good.   GOD bless you my poet friend and keep you safe and hold you ever so near to Him through your most serious trials. Amen.  -Bob

Betty...I thank you for your thoughts in this time of turmoil, you are a dear.

Bob...I would have to agree with you in saying that this was the hand of the Lord as it was completed in about 15 minutes and I just couldn't type fast enough for the thoughts that were coming to mind.  How sweet the comment to ask God to hold me near and comfort me in this time of need and make things right.  You, my poet friend, I wish the same and more.  God Bless you as my heart warms with your words.
