Could Be Anywhere...

Pathway

Still thinking about God
as a goal, someplace to go.
Something to acheive, work toward...
absurb; almost like harps in heaven.

Seeing Father as a destination
pearly gates and streets of gold.
Perhaps these things do exist
does it matter; if never seen?

Shouldn’t the real seeking
take place in the spirit, within?
Finding that pace of utmost fluidity
experiencing God in the here and now?

His joy, His love, His peace
should be our goals, right?
To know our Father, not as a place
but to know Him as present.

A walking around relationship
twenty-four and seven with our Dad.
Hand in hand;just like a child
leaving footprints in the sand.

... was once upon, bleeding
and Tramp Poet for a time.
Now; I'm just little ole me
       "Say friend; spare a rhyme"?...

Ahh, your closing verse just sums this up so beautifully. Just like a Dad, holding hands, leaving footprints in the sand. Perfect!
Loved it.   Cheryl

BRAVO!!! Yes, yes, I agree too that Him alone is the present we all must be seeking to find, and the love He offers to us all rather than the place He is king of! (smiles) This is wonderful, sweet friend, we all love you so much, God Bless You! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Daniel, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

I enjoyed reading your poem.  I am still striving to think of Him as a "walking around everyday" kind of Dad.  He is so awe-inspiring, it's difficult for me to think of Him that way.  This poem helps.
