Because It Is Written, I Stand Are you hungry? ~~~~~Let me feed you. Are you thirsty? ~~~~~I’ll give you drink. Do you seek control? ~~~~~Let me give you the world! Don’t worry about who’s speaking; ~~~~~don’t worry about who’s promising; ~~~~~just follow me. You say the world will fall away; ~~~~~the sun will dry up the drink; ~~~~~the wind will blow away the grain. Is that why You turn away? What can I say? Truth is in the way. ©February 24, 2002 The red lettering is the tempter speaking with a great, enticing grin on his face. The blue is how he felt when faced with Christ’s response of, “It is written...” and how he responded to Him. May each of us find the strength to trust Christ to help us respond in the same manner. This was what I wrote during last Sunday’s sermon message. The youth minister, having been given about 16 hours notice that he needed to give the sermon, the next day, as the senior pastor would be with his wife, Henrietta.
