I AM LOVE

I am love - not much but all
I came to learn in human years
of test and trial, humility,
and strength that rose within my soul.

But strength to some a foolish pride
staked on dreams they cannot see,
a walk downhill to poverty
they bid me know before I’m old.

How can it be reality dictates my destiny
and dreams the food of fantasy that fills my inner need?
What lies in dirt I cannot see that speaks of greater worth
after earth has claimed the last of my remains.

I don’t know, you don’t know, my truth is only mine
and each to one and all sometime will shine the light
but humbly as I know love lives to claim the day
still only in my dreams does it show the way to go.

I am love – I can love – I will again one day
and then my dreams will rest - they sleep forever best
in arms of lovers satisfied by feasts of fantasy
garnished with reality for all the world to see.

Yet dreams will never die, there’s always more to find
in their guiding light that sets our fears aside
but most times our eyes are blinded by their might
and most times our minds refuse to let us know  …
love is in our souls after we have to go!

Thank you, Honeybunch, for this beautifully written poem.

God is I AM. God is Love. When you say, "I Am Love" is the voice I hear simply God in you crying to be accepted. Look and see. For isn't Love already within you, just waiting to be given to others? Powerful and eternal Love being recieved through God's channel. Is it hiding behind a window shade or a door? Just open. Look! Your soul will show you. Purest Love. Love to give away, unconditionally, free!

And when we give our love away, I find that it soon comes back, multiplied, in overabundance, filling all of the desires of our heart, through God.

Thank you both for your lovely responses.  Indeed the power of God is awesome manifested in our souls to show us the way even if it means grabbing us by the shoulders and shaking some sense into us.  However, He still makes the journey confusing and full of mystery but I guess he too is entitled to a sense of humour.  'Tis a wonderful world!  I thank him for it!
Love,
Helen

Loved it...Loved it...Loved it...   "and dreams the food of fantasy that fills my inner need?"  &   "they sleep forever best
in arms of lovers satisfied by feasts of fantasy garnished with reality for all the world to see."  are two of the sweetest lines.  I love the choice of words and the imagery it relays...

Dear Floria and J,

Thank you both so much for reading and commenting.  Pure love ... yes, but does it have a place in this world.  I do wonder about that so very much.

L,

Helen
