Mercy and grace How profound the sound Two words that can change our lives Undeserved favor which can’t be found In fellow man, no matter how one tries Compassion forbidding consequence Even when punishment’s deserved When such kindness makes no sense That’s the kind of God we serve Who alone could devise such a plan for mercy as Christ hung on that tree? Divine assistance to sanctify man Dying in a place reserved for me Thank you, Lord, for priceless mercy And grace in your outstretched hands Without you, Jesus, where would I be?
