I See You Hanging Over There

Who am I indeed!
so many souls past
down the line of humanity
from calvary’s toll on you.

But only a picture remains
in the minds eye to bestow
shadows at best, betrayal at foot
soldiers defied for a roll of dice.

Great sacrifice you made atonement
for sins past and those to come!
you called upon your fathers name
stilled the air became
for triumph was upon the cross.

So few knew how they would pay,
I pause for a moment in time
cheek drenched in tears
I see my Lord hanging over there
my heart breaks deeply for you.

But lessons in this I know somehow
will be understood,
please give me your wisdom freely
so my confusion will have a end.

Let me not grumble about
the rocks underneath my feet,
let my eye keep clear sight
upon your perfect self
and also the bitter sweet of life.
