I knelt to pray
But not for long
I had to much to do
I had to hurry to get to work
For bills woudl soon be due
So I knelt and hurried to say a prayer
I jumped off my knees
My Christian duty was done now
My sould could rest at ease
All day long I had no time
To spread the word of cheer
No time to speak of Christ to friends
They'd laugh at me I feared
No time No time
To much to do
That was my constant worry
No time to give to souls in need
But at last
The time to die
I went before the Lord
I came, I stood with down cast eyes
For in His hands
God held the book of life
God looked into His book
" I cannot find your name" He said
"I was going to write it down...
But I never found the time."

Great reminder of taking time for God. Often, we get so busy doing His work we tend to forget time for Him. I think God would rather have our attention and relationship than having us running around doing even good deeds. Thanks for reminding us today. Cheryl

I needed to be reminded of this...always too little time for what should be the easiest part of our life...spreading His word.  Thanks for the "nudge" in the right direction.  Linda

(sigh) Such a wonderful message and wisdom fills your words, sweet friend, sometimes we forget to pay attention to Him, but deep down He is always here, and we should all take the time to thank Him for all He has given us! (kiss on cheek) I love it, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

I've read this before but it's something we need to be reminded of.  I also like the one about asking God for things to enjoy life which ends saying God gave us life to enjoy all things.

How true So true
what profit is there in earthly pursuits if you lose your very soul?
we all need to be reminded of this and your poem does it well
thanks
