Somewhere in the Mist

Through tangled seas of thought I sail.
Old memories begin to hail
My fragile craft, to come on board.
I know that I cannot afford
To let them come.  I exit fast
And leave them calling from the past.

New waters lie ahead of me.
If there are reefs, I cannot see.
A pearly light begins to grow
And ever onward I must go.
Somewhere in the mist there lies,
A fairer land and bluer skies!

Hm..  This has a cool jive to it.  I love the way you tied up the ending.  Your rhyming really makes it tie in with everything else.

I really like the dark, mysterious, but at the same time beautiful images in this poem.  The second stanza is really cool.  Like the way it communicates your desire to take risks for a greater good.

Great write.  This is definitely one for the library!

"If history is to change, let it change. If the world is to be destroyed, so be it. If my fate is to die, I must simply laugh"

Great imagery of warding off bygone sorrows.  When I have these tangled thoughts, I try reminding myself how well off I am compared to some very rough past times, but I like your thoughts of forging into the unseen future filled with hope.  Thank you.

I very much enjoyed your poem this morning.
The light will get brighter and brighter as onward you go.
A pearly light begins to grow
And ever onward I must go.

Thank you for sharing this poem of hope.

Yes.... not only are you in the eye of the storm but in the eye of your Father also.  This is a beautiful image of deliverance that you have poetically painted here  -Bob.
