Two baptisms in our church today, Two souls offered up to God. The parishioners warmly welcomed them; As one head began to nod. The other held his head up high, As he carried his little son. For one new saint was a few months old, His dad was the other one. We weren't told the entire story Of how this came to be. Did the small child lead the father? It remains a mystery. Every worshipper this day, Felt a special little tug. As the baby's mother took the child, And gave his dad a hug. We felt God's presence in the room, As we sang "The Borning Cry". We had two new members in our fold And tears in every eye. By Joyce 10/07/01 |

Joyce, This is a beautiful reflection of a wondrous time of dedication and rebirth in the Lord. Thank you for sharing. Our church does not have a baptismal because we renovated an old movie theater... but ever so often, two or three times a year, the church takes over the public swimming pool. We baptize several new members at one time and continue the celebration with a big potluck and barbecue and of course those who want go swimming. It is a glorious time in the Lord for certain. Thank you again for sharing. -Bob |
