We hold all life sacred
A gift from God

Yet those in white
Can help end a life

We wish not to offend
So prayer is not allowed

Except in national crises

We have our rights
Don't dare to step on them
Even if we are doing wrong

I hear the dignitaries say
We hold all life sacred

Let us pray
In God we trust
Flows smoothly from our lips

There is an evil in the world

Lord help us
Begin the purging
Within our hearts today

This is a terrible problem and I am glad that I don't have to make the decisions. We do not want to hurt innocent people, but we cannot let people like these have their way with us. I hope with the help of our God we can find a way out before it comes to slaughtering innocents. Joyce

I think most of us are praying for the same things right now. A way to show that we will not tolerate the evil, without fighting back, but not at the expense of innocent lives. How is that possible? Only God knows the answer.

So far many positive things have come from this horror and we pray God will direct the decisions that must be made to assure the safety of our country as well as others thoughout the world. I'm pleased to see the care being used to prevent a misguided retaliation as a knee-jerk response. Thanks for encouraging faith in your poem.
