Oh, more like You I long to be
Love as You love, so true, so free
Forgiving all, so tenderly
Yes, more like You, Lord, let me be.

To be like You - my heart's desire
Ignite in me Your holy fire
Please, cleanse me now oh Purifier
To be like You, Lord, I aspire.

To see like You - I long to see
The best in all - oh can it be
To see their need just like you see?
To see like You, Lord, is my plea.

Instill in me Your servant heart
Your humbleness, oh Lord, impart
All pride and self, please, let depart
And set my course, Lord, by your chart.

And may I ever seek the lower seat
Oh may I never grieve Your Paraclete
Oh may I ever, Lord, sit at Your feet
And may I ever see Your grace complete.

Denise,
This is such a lovely prayer, and you've gone to great lengths to rhyme it so well.
And such a worthy theme-  To be like our Lord
in the truest & most noble senses.  In My book your batting a 1000 on this one--a Grand Slam of a wonderful Poem-Prayer.
  You are a BLESSING!!!Thank You.

Beautiful Denise, something we all strive for! Or should I say, we should strive for!

Denise you always write such awesome poems like this!!!  I must say you are the queen of great rhyming... and the goals you are striving for are definitely spot on.  This beautiful poem/prayer will have placed such a smile of His face, as it has mine - bless you my friend.

What a beautiful prayer, Denise.  Ah, to be able to see through His eyes....wonderful thought, and always beholding Him upon the throne.  great poem.
