The Vital Link

Did Jesus know when just a lad
That Joseph wasn't His real dad?
How old when He became aware
His Father meant to place Him there,
So He would be a pawn for man?
The Vital Link within God's plan.

He must have had such strength of trust,
To do the things He knew He must.
He never wavered from His path,
Even when He felt the wrath
Of countless people bound to be
Instrument of His destiny.

What did He feel?  How did He bear
The awful things that happened there?
Accepted dying, wracked with pain,
Before He saw His realm again
And left behind a debt that we
Will carry for eternity!

But yet, it rests upon our hands
With endless love and His commands
Are never more than we can bear
And we obey because we care.
We want to please Him if we can,
Knowing He is of God, not man.

Yes, when you think of Jesus as that blessed baby and sweet young child, you wonder how he could grow up to face the awful burden that was his.  But he did and now we all have hope.  Joyce
