This day, Dear Lord, is one that I Am glad I didn't miss. Can Heaven be more lovely, More magnificent than this? The wind is calm, the sun is warm, The air is pure and clear. A June day cannot rival This one, in fall of year. The ripened fruits have drawn crowds Of bees and butterflies. The other fauna too will feast On manna from their skies. I harvested the very best for Fruit preserves and pies to bake. Birds had their fill before fruit fell For smaller creatures to partake. The day is filled with sounds of joy From voices large and small. And I am just as gleeful, Lord At the wonder of it all. These multitudes that buzz and chirp and Sing a grateful song; Are lifting praises to you, Lord. May I just sing along? By Joyce 8/26/01 |

Joyce: I can hear the same song over here where I am. The bees have chased me out of the raspberry patch but I don't begrudge them their share! We've picked gallons and shared with our friends. The crickets are adding their voice to the symphony! A truly lovely poem! Betty Lou Hebert |

Is everyone having a beautiful Fall? Today was fantastic here. My daughter and two friends were in the arena horseback riding, and I walked my JRT Skippy and gingerly stepped over dandelions, crickets, and horse manure in the pasture, while chikadees and ravens raced about as if it was spring again. Then I came home and found this poem waiting for me. Thanks. |
