Forever In His Debt We walked through meadows wet with dew. The night was old, the day was new. The eastern sky was promising Delights the coming morn would bring. I followed where His footsteps led And listened to the things He said. I picked His words, like daisies, white, And made a chain to bind me tight, So in His Presence I would stay, Until He leads me home someday. I gathered other flowers too. Forget-me-knots. A sprig of rue, For things I've done that I regret. I am forever in His debt, Because He gives such gifts to me And forgives the flaws I see!
